Rainy season is here! In Florida we need to take special care in the selection of products that we use on our lawns, shrubs and plants. During the rainy season, whatever we choose to use on our Florida landscaping in terms of fertilizers will wash directly into our rivers, estuaries and the Gulf! Many commercial brands of fertilizers contain nitrogen which causes problems like algae blooms – and even can kill fish. Our water ways are a major source of fun for residents and a big draw for tourists.
There are alternatives to care for your Florida style landscape. Check out compost products, cow manure, chicken manure and even mushroom compost and mushroom compost. To green up your yard – consider using an iron product. It will help replenish the nutrients your plants need to flourish in our sultry summer climate.
