Sarasota Historical Society has a most interesting year of programs and activities planned for members and guests. Housed in the charming Crocker Memorial Church in Pioneer Park, it is dedicated to broadening the appreciation of our rich historical heritage and protecting historical sites and structures in our local Sarasota community.
Here are some of the fascinating and informative events for members and guests from September to May.
Conversations at Crocker is offered the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm.
Lectures and panel discussions include
- History of Newtown
- Sarasota During World War II
- Circus, Circus!
- How Sarasota Became a Baseball Town.
There are historical trolley rides of the downtown area each month with a narration.
Brown Bag Lunches are another favorite featuring local authors. Bring your lunch and enjoy local authors on Wednesdays from 11a – 2p December 17 – Bea Hartman, January 21 – Charles Sobchzak, February 18 – Liz Coursen, March 18 – Henry Duggan.
Be sure to save the date for The Designer Tag Show on November 15 from 10:00-3:00. It’s a “Don’t Miss” event featuring beautiful accessories for the home and many more items.
